Último Dragón Graphic Novel Trailer
After seven months, here is the trailer for the Último Dragón graphic novel, animated by yours truly.
Illustrated by Wil Woods and Tyrine Carver and written by Dan Madigan, the graphic novel shows the legendary origin of the Último Dragón mask and its journey through time.
Since last October, most of my free time has been devoted to taking Wil and Tyrine's amazingly detailed artwork, slicing it up, and animating it in order to do justice to the fantastic story Dan has written for this character. Hopefully those countless hours in front of a screen are evident in the final result. I'm especially proud of the fly-through shot in the alley, which was done in 3D using AfterEffects and was by far the most difficult shot to accomplish. Also if you look closely in that scene there are a few hidden logos scattered throughout. See if you can spot them.
Also a big thanks to Gary Lee Jackson and Mitch Berlow for their keen eyes in making this piece the best it could be, to Jerry Reynolds for his last-minute musical magic, and of course, to Mr. Dragon himself for being so awesome.
