Netflix: "13th" Documentary Motion Graphics

Yet another Netflix documentary I had the opportunity to work on.

"13th" refers to the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which bans the practice of slavery.  That is, unless you are convicted of a crime.  This is exactly what happened to so many African Americans since the end of the Civil War, and continues to this day.

The documentary reveals the systems put in place to label African Americans as criminals in order to keep slavery alive and well in the United States, systems that hide in plain sight that many of the privileged in our society either can't recognize or choose to exploit for their own gain.  It's a very moving and important piece of filmmaking that I'm honored to have been a part of.

You can watch the entire documentary here.

Just another reason to keep that Netflix account.
